Vedas about the End of World — 11 Comments

  1. Firstly 1 bhramha day is of 360 human years
Secondly each sub yug is of 2700 years plus 300 yug sandhi
Thirdly god lives beyond the space horion which creates this time gap
Fourth only our soul can cross the space horison
Fifth if anything or anyone other than our soul tries to cross the horison it would be destroyed (This process is called spegitification)

    • Hi Aarsh,
Actually a Brahma day is 365 human years.
      See below:
The controversy of 360 versus 365 days per year has come into being because in this day and age those who are studying Vedic astrology are doing so without being properly educated in Vedic cultural traditions. From a study of the Vedas and astronomical texts we find that the Sun is the basis for measuring time. That the year is based on the seasons which is again based on the movement of the Sun. There are several types of years in vogue in Vedic culture. The only reference to a 360 day year was used strictly for sacrificial purposes, the soma-yajna, it was not a lunar or solar year, nor was it used for civil or astrological purposes. The Vedic Lunar calendar is actually Solar because it is tied to the seasons which in turn are a Solar phenomena, thus the Lunar and Solar calendars measure the same length of time and do not diverge as a function of time as does the 360d/y in comparison with the 365d/y. Confusion arose after the British introduced the Gregorian calendar into India, then Lunar tithis became mistakenly equated with Solar days and the Lunar year of 360 tithis became confused with a solar year of 360 days. Inspite of this confusion pre-British classics in Vedic astrology such as Phala Dipika clearly state that the year for Mahadasa calculation is 365 day year. The claims of those who state they get better results using a 360 day year is based on ignoring the holistic approach to astrological analysis and is more or less bluff and opinion. If we must choose on the basis of opinion then choose the opinion of the Rishis and previous acaryas who are steeped in the Vedic cultural traditions of astronomy and calendric science. The previous acaryas follow the 365 day year for mahadasa calculation. We close this discussion by quoting part of a letter by the late, learned, Vedic scholar H.R. Shankar that appeared in The Astrological Magazine: – See more at: http://www.shyamasundaradasa.com/jyotish/resources/articles/how_long_year/how_long_year_6.html#sthash.KV2sh18B.dpuf

  2. Hi Aarsh,
There are plenty of different speculations and theories that pop up and disappear almost every day.
One has to find a trustful source of knowledge in order not to waste time and life on reading nonsense.
My source is Shrimad Bhagavatam, a holy scripture proved by millenniums. It contains the material knowledge, some of that the modern scientists didn’t discover yet and the spiritual knowledge about the soul, Super Soul and their interrelation.
This is the only source of knowledge that is worth to study.
    Best regards.
    Larisa

    • I actually did a lot of research on the topic . My conclusion is that there are 360 days (were) in the cycle . There is a formulae in physics through which it can easily be calculated. Every year nearly 1.5 second is added yo the globe. Also krishanji said it. dt = time change per year×no of days in an year × no of years. This will give the time change in seconds.

  3. And the type of education at that time was far far better than at our stage. Many artifacts have been found proving that much higher level of science existed even 2 milion years ago

  4. Hi Aarsh,
His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Shrila Prabhupada in His translation and purport to Srimad Bhagavatam (third canto, chapter 11, verse 18) says that one year of the demigods equals to 360 human years.
He is the greatest authority to me.
So I agree with you about the duration of a year of the demigods.

    SB 3.11.18, Translation and Purport:
Maitreya said: O Vidura, the four millenniums are called the Satya, Tretā, Dvāpara and Kali yugas. The aggregate number of years of all of these combined is equal to twelve thousand years of the demigods.
The years of the demigods are equal to 360 years of humankind. As will be clarified in the subsequent verses, 12,000 of the demigods’ years, including the transitional periods which are called yuga-sandhyās, comprise the total of the aforementioned four millenniums. Thus, the aggregate of the above-mentioned four millenniums is 4,320,000 years.
    Sincerely.
    Larisa

    • Thanks????
Can we contact through my email as there are many more things about vedas not related to this topic such as the precision of the equinox.

  5. What do the vedas talk about theory of relativity and what arsh said previously that God lives beyond space horizon.IS it that he is speaking of the event horizon in case of a blackhole where even light can’t escape.and maybe time has no usefulness there

  6. And another thing I want to point out that 8.64 billion years is one day for brahma SO here time is relative.and we can say that whatever said by scientists today has been said in our scriptures before.PLEASE CLARIFY
