Mahatiktakam Ghritam – Profound Wisdom of Ayurveda
Mahatiktakam Ghritam is a drug that improves the condition of the skin in a number of ailments. It combines the healing power of herbs and ghee (clarified butter). This enhances the effect of the drug many times over. It is especially useful for treating skin in complex therapy at the preparatory stage. See: Ghee.
According to statistics, more than 20% of the population suffers from skin ailments. These include acne, eczema, fistulas, herpes, blisters, skin pigmentation, boils, etc. This preparation helps even with wounds that do not heal for a long time, including purulent ones. It shows effective results even with syphilis. Moreover, it will be useful for less serious problems, such as itching, inflammation, and burning of the skin.
Due to its hemostatic properties, Mahatiktakam Ghritam will serve as a real salvation for women suffering from menorrhagia (excessively heavy menstruation). It stops heavy uterine bleeding, thereby preserving the woman’s immunity and reducing the risk of anemia.
Mahatiktakam Ghritam helps with disorders of the nervous, cardiovascular systems, and eye diseases. All these ailments are caused by an exacerbation of Pitta dosha and the drug is designed to bring it into balance. As a result, these problems and similar ones go away.
It is used in Panchakarma – a ritual of deep cleansing of the body in order to improve its health. Such a procedure can relieve many chronic diseases, rejuvenate the body and prolong life. However, Mahatiktakam Ghritam itself, outside of Panchakarma, cures chronic diseases. It brings Vata and Pitta dosha into balance.
It also might help with such a serious mental disorder as schizophrenia. Fever, bleeding hemorrhoids, heart disease, jaundice and anemia recede under the influence of this remedy.
Active Ingredients:
Cassia fistula. The pulp of this bean contains: anthrax glycosides – sennosides A and B, rein, barbaloin, aloin, formic and oxalic acids. The fruits are used as a laxative, as well as for liver diseases, gout, rheumatism, dysentery, diabetes.
Swertia chirata. Many Ayurvedic doctors value this plant for its effective action in various diseases, including bloody vomiting, dropsy, diseases during pregnancy, typhoid, unstable fever, skin lesions and blood impurities. Like other bitter medicines, swertia is a stomachic, laxative, anthelmintic, and also an antipyretic. It increases appetite, enhances digestion, reduces flatulence, reduces bile spillage and stomach acidity. A number of Indian doctors recommend swertia for staph infections. This is a very good remedy for chronic fevers and liver complications after their cessation. It also helps with atonic dyspepsia, flatulence, loss of appetite, helminthiasis, and skin diseases.
Triphala. An ancient medicinal composition of three fruits – amalaki, haritaki and bibhitaki. Affects all types of human tissue and balances all three doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha, bringing all life support systems of the body to a state of optimal functioning. Due to this effect, a person’s well-being improves significantly. No matter what age one is, he or she starts feeling better, the condition of the skin improves, joint pain goes away, various injuries on the body – wounds and abrasions heal faster, activity and performance increase as well.Triphala positively affects memory and vision, treats diseases of the lungs and digestive system, acts as a mild laxative, improves immunity, and helps restore normal intestinal microflora. Neem (Azadirachta indica). One of the most popular means for cleansing the blood and the body as a whole, removing waste and toxins from it. Thanks to cleansing with neem, the condition of the body and various organs improves, the skin is cleansed, and the incidence of diseases decreases. It is a very strong anthelmintic, helping to get rid of parasites in a short time. It is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Neem has a rejuvenating effect, increases immunity, and enhances the body’s healing ability. It has strong antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral properties, and prevents dandruff. Neem strengthens, nourishes, moisturizes and smoothes hair.
Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia). Improves the state of immunity, stops premature aging, relieves fever and cleanses the body of toxins.
White Sandalwood (Santalum album). Sandalwood is a refrigerant, very useful during gastritis, a burning sensation in the hands and feet.
Golden Turmeric (Curcuma longa). It has a warming effect, harmonizes all types of constitution, is effective for arthritis, muscle pain, rheumatism, bruises, ulcers, dermatitis, toothache, menstrual irregularities, cough, diabetes, hemorrhoids, cuts, wounds, burns, skin diseases, jaundice, relieves anxiety, stress, and increases immunity.
Calamus (Acorus calamus). Beneficial for intellect, improves speech, balances Vata dosha, purifies blood and lymphatic system. Helps restore tissue, normalizes energy flow in the body, restores appetite, improves digestion, improves sinusitis and joint diseases.
Ghee. Ayurveda traditionally considers ghee to be one of the healthiest products. Ghee soothes all three doshas, in particular, it is often used to treat Vata and Pitta dosha imbalance. Vedic texts call ghee an extremely useful product for children and the elderly, since it promotes tissue growth. Ghee is the best means for Ayurvedic oiling of the body, preserving youth and rejuvenation of the body, it is used with great success in thousands of medicinal preparations and many treatment methods. In many preparations, ghee acts as a “transport” agent, delivering the necessary substances to the cells. Ghee has antioxidant properties, which allow it to “collect” free radicals. Modern scientific research has also shown that ghee does not have any significant effect on cholesterol levels in the body, unlike other oils. Ghee gives strength to the body, improves memory and mental abilities, and intellect. Ghee stimulates the digestive fire and enhances the effect of medicinal herbs.
Directions for use: 1/4 -1/2 teaspoon with water before meals 1-2 times a day, or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor. No side effects have been noted. However, self-medication with this drug is not recommended, especially for people with diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and high blood pressure. Diarrhea and stomach upset may occur as a result of taking very high doses. It is recommended to take the drug as prescribed and under the supervision of a specialist.

TODAY’S TIP: The correct dosage of Mahathiktaka Ghritam depends on the patient’s age, gender, and medical history. The preparation is not recommended for children.
