Fulfillment of All Desires is the Cosmic Rule
Vedas state that ALL desires of ALL beings always get fulfilled. This is the cosmic law. The material world was created to let all our wishes come true in order we learn to wish. The desires are fulfilled to help us realize which of them are desirable and which are not. Desires do not get fulfilled immediately just because as a rule they are chaotic and often eliminate each other. Time is needed for all of our desires to come true as well for all desires of other beings toward us.
It is very important to realize that current circumstances result from our past desires. Understanding the power of desires makes one be very careful in expressing them. Not everything that comes into our mind deserves to be formulated as a desire. The fact is that fulfillment of your desire will come as a package with other things, sometimes much less desirable for us. We need to clearly define the desire and be ready to accept it when it comes. Right desire is one where you are accepting all consequences it brings along. For example wanting to be a parent includes not only enjoying the cuteness of your baby, but also taking care of her when she is sick or just in bad mood.
Controlling desires doesn’t mean you have to suppress all of them. To wish is the only way to happiness. Dreams and aspirations are welcome. Unless they do not harm others you are free to wish without bad side effects. And your wishes will come true. The only thing is that there are millions of other beings with their desires as well. Knowing that your desire will be fulfilled and being able to wait happily in line for your turn is what all of us need to learn.
Sometimes we believe we desire something but in reality we need absolutely different thing. Let’s take money. Think of amount of money you’d be completely satisfied with. Imagine that pile of notes or just your bank account statement. Consider your possibilities. Think of what you are going to do with your money. Notice, how you feel. Women often see themselves buying presents for relatives and friends, showing them love and care. Men experience the security of having all that potentiality. In reality we are longing for those feelings not the money. The miracle is that you do not need the money to feel that way. We can show love and care through simple things not even material. We can feel secure just by building strong loving relationships with partners, kids, parents, friends, and co-workers. At the other hand, money alone without warm circle of loved ones and friends doesn’t guarantee contentment. And how often we invest our time and enthusiasm into pursuit of money putting at a disadvantage the relationships and friends.See also (The law of karma, Vedas on Money, Vedas on Cosmos, Time, Cycles of Material world )
